King’s College London and Aktiia Partner on Pioneering STARCHy Trial for Cardiometabolic HealthSurvey indicates greater patient preference for Aktiia’s cuffless monitor
Aktiia is excited to announce a pioneering collaboration with King’s College London for the STARCHy Randomized Controlled Trial (ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT05994313), a study set to transform understanding of how dietary choices impact cardiometabolic health. This trial specifically investigates the effects of potato consumption on sleep quality and glycaemic control, compared to other starchy foods, in adults aged 40-80 with low intake of fruits and vegetables.
The Aktiia 24/7 Blood Pressure Monitor, the only clinically validated device for continuous blood pressure monitoring, will play a key role in the study. Anya Klarner, PhD candidate in Nutritional Sciences at King’s College, shared her enthusiasm about the partnership, noting, “We are excited to collaborate with Aktiia, whose device enables us to gather longitudinal BP data, including nocturnal measurements, without disturbing our participants’ sleep.”
Participants will rely on Aktiia’s technology for around-the-clock monitoring, capturing up to 200 readings per participant each week. This continuous data stream will provide unparalleled insights into the complex relationships between diet, nutrition, and vascular health. Aktiia is proud to support research that empowers medical professionals to make data-driven decisions for improved cardiometabolic health.
